JFK airportOn Friday, February 07, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reminded international travelers returning from the 2014 Winter Olympics to carry the appropriate travel documents and to declare all agriculture goods upon arriving to the United States to a CBP officer.

As international travelers return from the Winter Olympics, CBP shares the following tips:

• Have all the required travel documents for re-entry to the United States.

• Visitors from Visa Waiver Program countries must have an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

• Know the difference between prohibited merchandise and restricted merchandise.

• Do not bring prohibited fruits, meats, dairy/poultry products and/or firewood into the United States.

• If you are a frequent international traveler consider joining CBP’s Trusted Traveler Program for expedited CBP processing information is available at Trusted Traveler Programs.

• CBP Travel Smart checklist is always available at Travel Smart.

Finally, travelers should build additional time between connecting flights as international travel is steadily increasing. At airports last year, CBP officers processed more than 102 million travelers.
